Our app is in beta which means it is getting frequent updates so your experience on the app may be a little different to what we have below.

Note that our rewards program is not yet operational.

What is beta?

We have ‘unofficially’ released the Powour App ‘ on the Australian Apple App Store and Google Play. We have invited our friends, families and a limited group of partners to download the app for testing and to send us feedback before its official launch. During the beta phase, users have the opportunity to explore and use the app, providing valuable insights to identify and fix any issues or make improvements. It allows us to gather real-world user feedback and ensure a more polished and reliable experience for the official release.

Why does the app need permissions to my device?

The Powour app requires access to certain device features and permissions for optimal functionality. These permissions are necessary to track your active transportation activities accurately, such as using GPS for distance and location tracking. Rest assured that we only request the permissions necessary for the app to function as intended, and we prioritise user privacy and data security.

The app unfortunately cannot be used without these permissions as we can’t analyse your transportation activities.

How does Powour work?

Powour works by tracking your active transportation activities and providing insights and rewards to encourage a shift towards cleaner transportation. Here’s how it works:

  1. Tracking: The Powour app uses various methods like GPS and motion sensors on your device to track your activities such as walking, running, cycling, scootering, or skating.
  2. Data Analysis: The app collects data on your distance, duration, and mode of active transportation. It then analyzes this data to calculate the carbon emissions saved compared to using a carbon-emitting vehicle.
  3. Rewards and Progress: Based on your tracked activities, Powour awards you points, such as Green Points and Blue Points, which can be redeemed for rewards like gift cards or discounts. You can track your progress and see the positive impact you’re making.
  4. Insights and Challenges: Powour provides personalized insights on your activities and suggests areas where you can improve. It also offers challenges and milestones to keep you motivated and engaged in your active transportation journey.
  5. Community and Groups: Powour allows you to join or create groups, where you can connect with other users, participate in challenges together, and compete for rewards. It fosters a sense of community and support.
  6. Data Privacy: Powour takes data privacy seriously and ensures the security of your personal information. Your data is treated confidentially, and Powour never shares sensitive or personal data without your consent.

By tracking your activities, earning rewards, and connecting with a community of like-minded individuals, Powour makes it fun and rewarding to choose active, cleaner transportation options, leading to a healthier, greener, and more sustainable future.

What types of activities can I track on Powour?

You can track a wide range of transport activities on Powour, including using a car, taking a train, walking, running, cycling and any other form of transportation. We aim to encourage you to use more active transportation options and show you what your carbon-emitting transportation choices have.

How do I earn rewards on Powour?

You can earn rewards on Powour by actively participating in tracked activities. Each activity earns you points, such as Life Points, Planet Points and Network Points  Points which count towards your Powour Points. In future there will be various rewards like discounts, cashback offers, and other incentives that will relate to your activities.

Life Points – these points are earned when you utilise active transport keeping yourself physically active.

Planet Points – being good to the planet is our mission. Choose transport options that don’t emit CO2 and earn points.

Network Points – these points are earned together with your community groups for all contributing to active transport.

Is my personal information secure on Powour?

Yes, we take your personal information security seriously. Powour ensures that your data is treated with utmost care and follows strict privacy protocols. We never share any sensitive or personal data without your consent. If you wish to close your account, you can do so through the app and request your data is removed too.

Can I connect Powour with other health and fitness tracking apps?

No. We currently do not connect with the various health apps other than your devices main health tracking app. Our objective is to not monitor your fitness but rather your transportation choices.

How are carbon emissions calculated on Powour?

Powour uses globally recognised algorithms and data analysis to calculate carbon emissions saved by comparing your active transportation activities to using carbon-emitting vehicles. This provides you with insights into the positive environmental impact you’re making.

Although we do make some baseline assumptions currently based on research data averages (e.g. your car’s CO2 emissions), we aim to improve the accuracy for each individual (e.g. based on your vehicles actual consumption).

Can I invite friends to join Powour and earn rewards?

We would love for you to invite your friends to Powour. We however do not have a referral program in place whilst we work on our beta app. You can share the app from your app store or device.

What types of rewards are available on Powour?

Besides saving the planet and improving your health by making positive active transport choices, we currently have not launched our rewards program. Our focus whilst in beta is to refine our tracking and points allocation before activating our rewards program.

How often are my progress and rewards updated on Powour?

Your progress and rewards are updated in real-time on Powour. This means that as soon as you complete an activity or earn points, you can immediately see your updated progress and rewards within the app. Your group’s efforts will be updated daily.

How can I get help or support if I have questions or issues with Powour?
